TROUT FISHING
TROUT FISHING the MIDDLE FORK SALMON RIVER
Fishing on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River is simply superb as it offers crystal clear water on one of the best catch and release fly fisheries in the nation. All of our amazing trips, with the exception of early season runoff, include the opportunity to fish this iconic river and our experienced guides can lead both beginners and experienced fisherman to discover deep pools and eddies where you can fish for trout. In order to protect this priceless wilderness resource, the Idaho Fish & Game requires that all fishing on the Middle Fork be catch and release, using only single barbless hooks and no live bait.
Each day our guests will be able to fish from oar rafts and from shore during stops, or they may choose to wander the shoreline from camp to fish during the mornings and evenings. Many of our guests bring their own fishing equipment, however, we also carry complimentary rods and flies for those who simply wish to show up and enjoy. Fishing licenses are required and can be obtained online at Idaho Fish & Game or when you arrive in Stanley prior to the trip.
For those guests who want to fish all day, we also offer the option of a dedicated fishing boat and guide. While this costs a little more, it is well worth it as these boats are specifically designed for fishing, with mounted fishing frames/seats and your guide will be able to linger on a fishing wall or run ahead of the group to find the best fishing spots.
For the REAL sports enthusiasts, we offer Fall Cast & Blast adventures in September. These trips are limited to 10 guests and are tailored to each group’s desires, trout fishing, Chukar hunting or both! These trips are frequently booked by groups of friends and offer ample opportunity for both fun and sport. Check out our Launch Dates and Pricing.
WHAT IS PAMPERED CAMPING?
Our amazing trips feature gourmet food and a hot shower along with our “You Don’t Lift a Finger Service” ! At the end of each day, you’ll find a welcoming camp to greet you after a fun day on the river. The camp will be ready with tents, chairs, fire circle, toilet facility, hot shower and wash stations. Land on the beach, select your tent and a guide will deliver your bag so you can lay out your warm sleeping bag, change your clothing and settle in for the night. When you’re ready, join the group for appetizers, cold drinks and a warm fire … or if you prefer, relax in your tent, read a book or explore the area. After a delicious guide-prepared meal, most guests linger around the campfire sharing stories, stargazing, playing games and soaking up the magnificent scenery.
