I am John Mortimer and I have been guiding raft trips from North Carolina to Costa Rica for the past 25 years, the past seven have been with Adventure Sun Valley. In all those travels, I find the Middle Fork of the Salmon to be one of the most incredible places I have experienced. From the changing geography and crystal-clear water to the salmon returning from the ocean to spawn; I feel very privileged to spend the summers in its beautiful canyons and share it with people from around the world. While I grew up on the east coast, early on I found a love for adventure and the outdoors. My passions include kayaking, climbing, back country skiing, biking, kite surfing and sharing time with my family.
I look forward to escorting you through this amazing area where very few people get to visit and sharing stories of its history!
